On Nov. 26th, at approximately 12:50 the power to 2 of our disk arrays was interupted. This resulted in the downtime of one of our servers.
The server affected was: brubeck.ecohosting.com: with IP range of 174.142.119.132 to 174.142.119.254
After remotely rebooting the server we realized the problem was more serious and thus proceeded to the datacenter. Once there we noticed the switch to one of our power bars was off. As our hardware is located in a locked cage we have yet no explanation how this happenned. The 2 possibilities are someone or some external force physically hit the switch and turned it off, or, there was a surge that caused the outlet's breaker to turn off automatically.
The latter is highly unlikely as the power to our hardware is very well controlled and conditioned. As we were not inthe datacenter as it happenned it is difficult to say how the former may have happenned.
We have openned a ticket with the datacenter to investigate the matter.
Full service was restored at approximately 14:05, just over an hour after the incident.
If there is anything further to update we will report it here.
We apologize for the downtime and any inconvenience this may have caused.
